One Tree Is Planted For Every Patient SafePassage Monitors

SafePassage has made a deep, company-wide commitment to pursuing sustainable, eco-friendly practices. Our giveback programs include global mission trips, local community service events and sustainability initiatives.

We took almost a year to painstakingly calculate the carbon footprint of SafePassage and then partnered with the Carbon Fund to entirely offset our carbon footprint through methane capture programs. These offsets neutralized our carbon production for the entire nine-year history of the company, and we will continue to eliminate our carbon impact going forward.

To further reduce our carbon footprint and give back in a meaningful way to our patients and our planet, we launched an initiative in partnership with American Forests, an organization that has been protecting and restoring forests for more than 140 years. One tree is planted for every one of our patients over the history of our company equating to over 40,000 trees!

In addition, we recognize the need for greening our supply chain. We have a dedicated team in the process of undertaking an assessment of all supplies. They are developing a tool to determine the most environmentally preferable products (EPP) for purchase going forward. As one example, we are reducing wasteful packaging by pre-bundling our electrodes at the supplier.

Safe Passage is committed to both the Greening the OR initiative and Greening the Supply Chain initiative, and demonstrates a strong overall commitment to environmental sustainability.

We are also honored to have been accepted to join the important healthcare non-profit Practice Greenhealth so we can contribute to and learn from the best sustainability practices around the industry. Green is in our DNA!
